Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy 6.3.3

The Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club, established in 1882, received its Royal Charter from H.R.H. Princess Louise during her visit to Bermuda the following year. Despite the temporary removal of its "Royal" designation over the years, the club successfully reapplied and regained approval from H.M. Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, reclaiming its place as the only "Royal" Dinghy Club worldwide. The original flag of HDC (Hamilton Dinghy Club) remains prominently on display at the club.

Dedicated to promoting sailing as a sport, R.H.A.D.C. actively involves juniors in sailing activities and supports various regattas and events, including the prestigious biennial Marion-Bermuda race. Providing sailing instruction year-round to both juniors and adults, the club boasts Bermuda's largest junior sailing fleet, featuring the popular O'pen BIC class.In 2014, RHADC hosted the O’Pen BIC North American Championships. Additionally, as the host club of the Bermuda Fitted Dinghy Association, R.H.A.D.C.'s "Elizabeth II" competes in the thrilling annual series of dinghy races across Bermuda.

R.H.A.D.C. offers more than just sailing opportunities; it prides itself on its vibrant social environment catering to members and their guests. Situated at the East end of Hamilton Harbour, the club provides stunning sunset and marina views, where patrons can enjoy drinks, meals on the patio or at the exquisite dining room. Special events like Friday Pub Night dinners are popular among members. Besides sailing facilities, amenities like a "bouncy castle," a small gym, a Snooker Room, ample parking, and a marina with over 100 berths make R.H.A.D.C. a sought-after location for social and recreational activities.
